Ho cercato un pò e non mi sembra di aver visto threads con lo stesso argomento, spero non sia un doppione.
L'argomento è il seguente:



Ovvero l'Agusta Westland AW 139: è un modello del tutto originale, o è un derivato da un modello militare? Nelle forme ricorda vagamente il 'vecchio' Lynx anche se il muso è simile al 109. La sigla AW mi fa propendere per la seconda ipotesi (derivato da un militare Westland), ma sicuramente voi ne sapete di più. Mi piacerebbe anche sapere qual'é la gamma dei modelli AW -civili e militari- attualmente. Grazie.

E' il frutto di un accordo, annunciato al Salone di Farnborough del 1998, ma successivamente cancellato nel 2005, fra Agusta e Bell per la realizzazione di un elicottero in grado di affiancare, non sostituire, il modello 412.
Denominato inizialmente AB 139, divenne poi AW 139 quando AgustaWestland riacquistò la partecipazione di Bell che rimane, almeno per ora, associata con AW nel programma relativo al convertiplano BA 609 ..... anche se, nello scorso anno, sono circolate voci circa una possibile perdita di interesse da parte dell'azienda americana .....

Il '139' è indubbiamente un elicottero di successo ..... però c'è ora chi afferma di avere tutte le intenzioni di ..... 'farlo fuori' .....

To effectively target the strongly selling AgustaWestland type, Airbus Helicopters has significantly altered the capabilities of its new model over the past 24 months.

Ma AW aveva già pronta la sua risposta .....

AgustaWestland has launched a beefed-up version of its AW139 twin-engined helicopter, upping the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) to 7t from the present optional upper limit of 6.8t.
The new increased gross weight retrofit kit takes the baseline rotorcraft’s MTOW from 6.4t at present and is an option on all AW139s.
Industry observers view the move as a direct response to Airbus Helicopters’ introduction of the much anticipated X4 – now called the H160 – which it has pitched squarely at the AW139.
The announcements were made nearly simultaneously at the HAI Heli-Expo show
