A Su-57 fifth-generation multirole fighter jet crashed in a forest area in Russia’s Far Eastern Khabarovsk Territory on Tuesday, Komsomolsk-on-Amur city administration source told TASS.
"The fighter jet crashed in taiga forest, far from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, during trials. The pilot ejected," an administration official said.
The pilot was not injured in the accident.

Nonostante questo ... viene espressa piena fiducia nel programma ... mentre appaiono all'orizzonte alcuni potenziali acquirenti esteri ...
High-ranking officials rushed to support the Sukhoi Su-57’s manufacturer this month, claiming that the program remains on track following the crash of the first deliverable example late last year.
Deputy chairman of the Russian government Yuri Borisov and defense minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Su-57 remains at the heart of the ongoing re-armament of Russian Air and Space Force (VKS) tactical aviation units and so the industrial program will go forward, regardless of whatever findings are made by investigators looking into the causes of the December 24 crash.
Everything is all right; [the program’s] on track,” Borisov told journalists.
Apparently, this confirmation of the Kremlin’s commitment to the program has been expedited to encourage potential foreign customers to proceed with their plans to acquire the latest Russian fighter.
Following the first public presentation of the exportable Su-57E at MAKS 2019, and the statements by top-ranking politicians, including President Putin himself, about the release of export clearance for this version, a number of long-standing overseas clients for Russian defense equipment have indicated their interest.

The Sukhoi Design Bureau has for the first time presented a flight simulator with virtual reality to train pilots for the expert version of the Su-57E fifth-generation aircraft, team leader with Sukhoi Yuri Zavgorodnev told TASS on Friday at the MAKS 2021 International Aviation and Space Salon.
"The concept has already made a step forward. We present the Su-57E interactive simulator," Zavgorodnev said.

One of Russia’s new wonder weapons is AWOL from the invasion of Ukraine: the Sukhoi Su-57 fighter.
Unveiled in 2010, the Su-57 was originally meant to be Russia’s first fifth-generation fighter jet, an aircraft capable of both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions while remaining undetected by enemy air defenses.
Today, the futuristic fighter bomber is still a long way from service with Russia’s Aerospace Forces.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, launched in late February 2022, was accompanied by a major buildup of Russian Aerospace Forces (RuAF) aircraft.
Russian Sukhoi Su-30SM and Su-35 fighters, Su-34 strike aircraft, and Su-25 close air support jets massed in airfields in Belarus and western Russia, and began carrying out missions in the skies over Ukraine.
The RuAF has suffered significant losses in just two short weeks, including 12 fighter and attack jets lost to Ukrainian fighters, as well as surface-to-air missiles.
One aircraft missing from the war entirely: the Su-57 fighter.

La Russia ha affermato che una versione aggiornata del suo problematico caccia furtivo Su-57 ha finalmente effettuato il suo primo volo ...
Since it was officially unveiled more than a decade ago, Moscow has touted the capabilities of its fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter as exceeding those of even the United States Air Force's Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.
However, Russia has struggled with the development of the Su-57 (NATO reporting name "Felon") in recent years, and just 10 test prototypes and six serially produced aircraft have been produced - of which two have been lost in crashes during test flights.
Despite those setbacks, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a subsidiary of the state-owned tech conglomerate Rostec, has continued the fighter's development - and this week announced that an upgraded Su-57 made its debut flight earlier this month.

Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation completes Su-57 deliveries for 2022 ...

By Ryan Finnerty - 29 December 2022

Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) delivered its final batch of Su-57 stealth fighters to the Russian armed forces for 2022.
Imagery posted to social media on 28 December, including messaging app Telegram and the Russian video sharing website VK, shows multiple Su-57s with blurred tail numbers undergoing inspection and taking off from a snowy tarmac.
“Our aircraft plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has fulfilled this year’s programme for the production of fifth-generation Su-57 aviation systems and Su-35S multi-role fighters for the Russian Aerospace Forces,” UAC director general Yuri Slyusar says.
“The aircraft scheduled for delivery next year are already in production,” he adds.
Russia describes the twin-engined Su-57 as a fifth-generation multi-role fighter, which Moscow says is meant to rival the Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter operated by the USA and its allies in Europe and Asia.
UAC did not disclose how many Su-57s were included in the latest delivery, however the video appears to show four jets.
Cirium data lists 75 of the type on order by the Russian air force (RuAF) and one in service.
Speaking at the Army 2022 event in Russia in August, Slyusar revealed four additional Su-57s were being built under a defence ministry contract.
The deliveries were accomplished despite severe economic sanctions levied against Russia by western powers in retaliation for Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
Those trade restrictions have limited the Russian aerospace industry’s access to advanced, western-sourced components and financial capital.
Russia’s domestically produced Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle was recently found to contain export-controlled materials from US and European manufacturers.
According to Russian news agency TASS, the RuAF will have 22 of the stealthy Su-57 in service by late 2024.
The total fleet is planned to reach 76 tail numbers by 2028.
UAC has also been developing the prototype Su-75 Checkmate, which the company said 2021 would make its first flight in 2023.
However, heavy losses of existing RuAF jets, combined with economic sanctions, may delay that schedule.
