L' appetito degli Indiani per gli armamenti diventa, giorno dopo giorno, sempre più irrefrenabile .....
Ora hanno messo gli occhi sull' Avenger ... la versione a getto del Predator ..... un velivolo che non è neppure stato adottato dagli USA ..... salvo, forse, dalla CIA .....

India’s likely accession to the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) next month may clear the way for acquisition of armed Predator C jet-powered UAVs made by California-based General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI).
The country first expressed interest in the drone, also named Avenger by California-based GA-ASI, last September.
India has also made inquiries about the Predator XP, but this export version is licensed only for surveillance.
“MTCR was the first step. Now things can be discussed. The U.S. Foreign Military Sales process is lengthy and it has to be also cleared by the U.S. Congress,” an Indian defense ministry official told AIN.

Avenger ..... ha volato la versione ER ad autonomia maggiorata.....

An extended-range variant of the Predator C Avenger remotely piloted aircraft made its first flight in October, manufacturer General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) announced on November 10.
The jet-powered aircraft now has 20 hours of endurance.
The maiden flight of the Avenger ER took place on October 27 at the company’s Gray Butte flight operations facility in Palmdale, Calif., GA-ASI said November 10. (*)
The manufacturer did not disclose specifics of the aircraft’s performance or the duration of the flight.
