Lufthansa Begins European Routes Transfer to germanwings

From 01JAN13, Lufthansa will begin network optimization, which sees all European and domestic services (excluding to/from Frankfurt and Munich) being merged into germanwings. As of 23OCT12, Stuttgart – Berlin Tegel is slated to be the first route see the flight number changes in the GDS
For the moment Lufthansa “LH” flight number is still open for reservation, but the airline is expected to remove LH-coded flights as early as 24OCT12.

Note at time this post goes to press, LH-coded flight numbers, 4U2000 series and 4U8000 series are available for reservation. As early as 24OCT12, GDS will see further changes, which LH-coded flights being removed. However it is unknown whether 4U2000 series flight numbers will be kept.
