The Central Operations section of Australia's Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has exercised a launch customer option to secure one medically-equipped Pilatus PC-24 for delivery in 2017/18.
It also has an option on a second of the in-development light business jets, for delivery in 2018/19.
Pilatus Aircraft marked a double celebration on 16 November, launching an upgraded version of its nine-year-old Pilatus PC-12NG and announcing the first flight of the second PC-24 test aircraft.
The superlight jet – registration HB-VXB - took off from Stans at 10:06 local time and flew across Switzerland for 82mins.

The Pilatus PC-24 made its full public debut at this week’s EBACE show when the Swiss manufacturer’s first prototype took a 24-hour break from an intensive flight test program to take a starring role on the static display.
With just over 500 flight hours logged by two prototypes, and with a third due to join the campaign towards the end of 2016, the highly versatile mid-light twinjet is not quite a quarter of the way towards completing type certification, scheduled for around the end of 2017. ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
“In the past few months we have conducted numerous important tests to explore the flight envelope and observe how the aircraft handles in natural icing conditions,” said Schwenk.
“The results are extremely positive and confirm that the PC-24 will be a superb aircraft, in line with the high standards of our ‘Pilatus Class’ - exactly as our customers expect.
Vendita del PC-21 all'Australia.
Pilatus North America, the Swiss airframer's US subsidiary, has broken ground on a new headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado, in preparation for the service entry of its PC-24 business jet.
Scheduled to open in the first half of 2018, the 10,900m² (118,000ft²) facility at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan airport will house sales, support and completions of both the PC-24 and the PC-12/NG single-engined turboprop, which has been the focus of the US operation since its inauguration 20 years ago.

"The process of attaching the wings to the fuselage demands accuracy to within a hundredth of a millimetre,” says the Swiss airframer.
NBAA ..... il PC-24 è presente ..... in attesa dell'ormai prossima certificazione .....
Pilatus’ PC-24 has returned to NBAA, as the superlight business jet programme reaches the final throes of its certification campaign.
The clean-sheet business jet was launched in May 2013 and flight testing began two years later.
To date the three PC-24 prototypes have flown 2,000h across 2,000 flights, the Swiss airframer announced this morning.
The seven-seat twin is scheduled to receive European and US type certification in December.
In attesa dell' imminente consegna al primo cliente .....
After its blink-and-you’ll-miss-it one-day appearance at NBAA last year – two years into its flight campaign – Pilatus has again brought the PC-24 to the convention, this time with expected certification and entry into service with launch operator PlaneSense just weeks away.
The Swiss manufacturer is in the final stages of a flight-test campaign involving three aircraft and in July completed the mating of the wings and fuselage of the first series-built example of the twinjet as it gears up to produce the 84 PC-24s on order over the next two and a bit years.

Pilatus has reopened the orderbook for the PC-24 business jet, five years after the initial batch of 84 aircraft sold out within 36h.
The superlight business jet has also secured European and US steep-approach certification, allowing owners and operators of the Williams International FJ44-4A-powered aircraft to perform landings under strict conditions, including using the 5.5° approach angle and short runway at London City airport.
Pilatus has sold half of its PC-24 positions within days of reopening the orderbook for the superlight business jet.
The Swiss airframer has allocated around 80 aircraft for the second order round – similar to the 84 positions in the initial run in 2014, which was sold out within 36h.
