Superjet to conduct approach tests in Italy
Sukhoi is to carry out a series of airport approach tests for its Superjet 100 regional aircraft in Italy.
The airframer is to send one of its prototype aircraft, 95004, to conduct the tests at the airports of Turin and Cuneo.
Sukhoi says that the twin-jet will perform Category I and II landing tests and undergo noise evaluation. The airframer adds that the aircraft will be subjected to high-intensity radiation fields.
Italian and Russian regulatory representatives met in Rome earlier this month to discuss progress on the Superjet's development, in preparation for authorising operation of the type within the European Union.
Sukhoi states that electromagnetic, lightning and evacuation tests are to be carried out on the aircraft in Russia.
