Volo per il Cile

Ciao a tutti!
Vi ho già scritto in passato per sfatare i miei dubbi, e devo ringraziarvi per essere sempre riusciti a farmi superare le mie fobie.
Ora vi sottopongo un'altra mia preoccupazione: mio marito purtroppo per lavoro dovrà recarsi in Cile.
La compagnia aerea che userà è la LAN. Secondo voi è affidabile e sicura?
Insieme abbiamo volato 2 volte verso gli USA, e durante il volo siamo passati sopra l'Irlanda, l'Islanda, La Groenlandia, ecc..., quindi in caso di guasto l'aereo aveva sempre un posto dove fare un atterraggio di emergenza. Verso il Cile, quando sarà sull'Oceano e avrà passato Capo Verde...dove potrà atterrare in caso di urgenza?? Il ricordo dell'aereo Air France chè arrivava dal Brasile ed è caduto mi spaventa ancora.
Questi due pensieri mi tolgono il sonno...

si può volare ETOPS (con due motori) anche sull'atlantico del Sud. Superato Capo Verde non so esattamente qual è l'isola più vicina in cui eventualmente potrebbe atterrare l'aeroplano, oppure può non esserci ma l'aereo è certificato per volare molto a lungo anche solo con un motore.

Ciao Maryfly.
Tra Capo Verde e Recife il pezzo di mare è assolutamente più piccolo di quel che pensi. Sei più vicina a Dakar o a Recife stessa in qualsiasi momento di quanto tu non lo sia tra NY e l'Europa.
La LAN inoltre è un colosso mondiale. È una delle principali compagnie americane e forse la più grande in SudAmerica. Sicuramente sarà la più grande dopo la fusione con la TAM, il principale vettore brasiliano. E la TAM, ti assicuro, non si fonde con la prima compagnia che capita, ma solo con le migliori
L'aereo dell'Air France ebbe broblemi diversi, problemi che - puoi starne certa - non si ripeteranno mai più.
Ormai di incidenti per guasti tecnici non se ne sentono più da anni e - ti assicuro - i piloti sono iper addrstrati ad affrontarli.
Inoltre non dimenticare che un aereoplano vola quasi meglio con un motore solo. L'altro cìè solo per sicurezza.

Carissima,
ti scrivo come continuo trasvolatore Europa - Sudamerica e ti posso assicurare che la LAN, non solo è una compagnia affidabilissima ma è sicuramente una delle migliori compagnie a livello mondiale, sia per l'altissimo grado di know how e sia per il servizio di terra e di bordo che offre ai suoi milioni di passeggeri. Tra l'altro ( il non lungo tratto di Oceano ) che separa Capoverde da Recife ha come ulteriore punto di riferimento aeroportuale ( mai verificatosi che per emrgenza sia stao usato) le isole brasiliane di Fernando de Noronha.
Hai scritto che "purtroppo" tuo marito dovrà recarsi in Cile? Beh, io invece ti scrivo : " beato lui!!!"
Stai tranquilla, la compagnia è OTTIMA ed il volo lo sarà altrettanto.

Grazie a tutti per le vostre risposte che mi hanno rincuorata per quanto riguarda il volo....ora devo solo fare training per il pensiero che per un mese (e spero che sia uno solo) io e le bimbe non lo vedremo .

Scusate se vi stresso ma sono molto preoccupata: il volo di mio marito per il Cile è partito ieri notte da Madrid, ma sul sito dell'areoporto di Santiago non lo vedo tra gli arrivi. Sono nel panico perchè possa essere successo qualcosa il volo è LAN 0723 MADRID-SANTIAGO arrivo previsto per le 9.20 ora locale.
Come mai non c'è?
