non pensavo che aerei così fossero in grado di eseguire questa manovra senza spezzarsi in due, o tre.

E una mia impressione o l'am ha perso un sacco di quota durante la manovra?

Le regolazioni del rudder trim e aillerons che ha eseguito il pilota servono a tale manovra?

Avevo già visto dei video di questa manovra...ho conservato dei commenti trovati in rete, li posto anche se in inglese.


"The barrel roll of tghe Dash 80 is discussed in detail by Tex Johnson, the test pilot. In 1955 Boeing chairman, Bill Allen, wanted Tex to do a fly-by of the Dash 80 at the sea front in Seattle where IATA and the Society of Aero Engineers was meeting, to coincide with the Annual Unlimited Hydroplane week. Tex was expected to fly over the gold cup course to help publicise the plane. Without telling anyone, except his co-pilot just beforehand, he lined up with the course, established a climb then turned full aileron to the left to do a 1-g roll. He said 'No-one would believe what they'd just seen, so I turned it around and came back and repeated the same thing on a westerly heading'. This was filmed from the ground, and at least photographed on board with the now famous photo looking along teh right wing with the engines 'up' and the ground 'down'.

The vice-president, John Steiner, was at the conference observing from the ground and was dumbfounded. Tex Johnson was soon summoned to Bill Allen to explain his actions, telling him he could have threatened the whole project. Tex Johnson replied that it had been a 1-g manouevre throughout and the plane wouldn't have 'known' which way up it was. As Tex was a qualified aerobatic pilot, he knew fully what he was doing. Apart from this there was no disciplinary action from the top, but it was acknowledged that this manoeuvre alone had brought more publicity for the plane than all the regular testing had done. "

All'ultimo raduno di MD80.it a Boscomantico ho avuto il piacere di parlare con il pilota Alitalia che avevo di fronte (sorry non ricordo mai i nomi!!) di questa manovra.
Effettivamente la manovra non è semplice ma possibile, il "trucco" diciamo che consiste nel mantenere l'accelerazione a 1G circa...la spiego così perchè non sono un esperto...

Se qualcuno ne sa di più...

Inoltre il pilota mi ha detto che i piloti collaudatori dell'Antonov 225 asseriscono di aver eseguito tale manovra nel primo o nei primi voli di prova del Myria...ma a questo proposito era abbastanza scettico (e mi ha trovato d'accordo...).

Da qualche parte ho anche la foto fatta dal copilota dal finestrino ad aereo invertito, quella che si vede nel video...se la trovo la posto...

Stupendo, neanche io credevo a queste possibilità con i liners, specialmente di quelle dimensioni. Probabilmente i trimmaggi erano apposta per quella manovra, come si vede però ha perso molta quota durante il barrel roll come previsto per un coso del genere. Riguardo ad un AN-225, sono molto molto scettico...
